About the Foundation

Rooted in Sabine County Since 1982

A local nonprofit run by neighbors, for the agricultural youth of Sabine County.

Who We Are

The Foundation Runs the Show

The Sabine County & Agricultural Improvement Youth Foundation is the local nonprofit behind the Sabine County Junior Livestock Show. We produce the show, manage the fairgrounds, and work year-round to support 4-H and FFA students across the county.

People sometimes think of the Livestock Show as its own organization. It is not. The Show is what the Foundation does, one part of a year-round commitment to Sabine County youth. The Foundation also works alongside the Sabine County Go Texan chapter to raise scholarship money for graduating ag students.

And the Show is bigger than livestock, even for a foundation with 'Agricultural' in its name. Alongside the heifer, steer, swine, goat, lamb, broiler, and rabbit divisions, kids compete in baking, photography, art, agricultural mechanics, horticulture, and public speaking, then close the weekend with a silent auction. Since 1982, that has been the point: give every kind of kid in this county a place to compete, build something, and be proud of it.

  • We are neighbors.
  • We are volunteers.
  • And we are committed to keeping opportunity close to home.

Don't take our word for it.

“Showing at the county show has always meant so much to me. It was an opportunity to showcase my love for baking and compete alongside other students my age. I also entered photography and truly enjoyed seeing my work on display during the show. Throughout my entire high school career, I participated in both photography and baking, earning multiple blue ribbons along the way. Those experiences helped shape my confidence, creativity, and work ethic. Now, it is an honor to give back as an adult and support our local county show! Many people think the county show is only about livestock, but it offers so many different opportunities for youth to showcase their passions and talents, whether that is baking, photography, art, mechanics, horticulture, or animals. The county show is about more than competition. It is about growth, leadership, and celebrating the hard work of our young people. I am proud to support something that gave me so much.”
