Who We Are

Rooted in Sabine County Since 1982

Since 1982, neighbors here have raised the barns, worked the check-in tables, and kept the lights on so Sabine County's 4-H and FFA kids have a place to show what they've worked all year on. That work runs year-round, under the Sabine County Agricultural Improvement Youth Foundation, a volunteer board of people who'd rather be at the arena than anywhere else.

  • We are neighbors, volunteers, and committed to keeping opportunity close to home.

Where Hard Work Meets Opportunity

Our youth are up before school to feed, back at the barn after supper, practicing a speech when the house is quiet, welding a project long after dark. They put in the hours most folks never see, and they come out of it with responsibility, resilience, and a plain pride in doing a job right.

  1. We provide the place.
  2. The community provides the support.
  3. The kids do the work.

What Happens Here

Events Happen Here All Year Long

This ground stays busy all year, and it runs on people: neighbors who show up, businesses that give money and time, volunteers working the gates, and kids putting in the hours. From the county's own livestock show to the fundraisers that keep the doors open, it all happens right here in Hemphill.

The Show is not the only thing on the calendar. Spring Fest, the skeet shoots, and the BBQ cook-off raise the money that keeps this ground open. See the Fundraisers

Not Just Talk

Local Support Makes a Difference

Nine divisions and every kind of kid with a way in. A volunteer board of neighbors who show up year after year. That's the proof, and it's the kind you can't fake with a number.

“It offers so many different opportunities for youth to showcase their passions and talents.”
Alissa Ross, Art & Photography Superintendent

In Their Words

Hear From the Youth of Sabine County

“Showing at the county show has always meant so much to me. It gave me a place to showcase my love for baking and photography and helped shape my confidence, creativity, and work ethic. Now it is an honor to give back as an adult and support our local county show!”
Alissa Ross, Art & Photography Superintendent

Graduating This Year?

If You're an Ag Kid Heading Out, This One's for You

You put in the years, the early mornings, the weigh-ins, the long weekends at the barn. If you're graduating and headed to college or trade school, there is scholarship money here worth asking about. It's funded by a share of the Show's own sale and open to Sabine County ag students. You fill out the shared Go Texan application, and the committee takes it from there.

This year's amounts and deadline come from the committee. Reach out and we'll get you the form and the date, and point you to the online version once it's ready.
