At the Sabine County Expo Center

The Rodeo

This isn't the one on TV. This is Sabine County's own rodeo, run right here in the arena the Livestock Show uses every year, put on by the same neighbors who run the Show.

The Rodeo is one of the Foundation's own fundraising events, alongside Spring Fest, the Skeet Shoots, and the BBQ Cook-off, not a stop on a traveling circuit, and not the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It happens right here, at the county's own arena, run by the same board that keeps the Show going the rest of the year.

Dates and entry details get posted here as soon as the board locks them in.

The Arena

150 feet by 200 feet of covered, sand-clay ground. Six chutes and roping boxes. Right around 100 seats in the bleachers, and room outside for a lot more trailers than that.

The Rodeo, same as the Livestock Show, gets produced and run by the Sabine County Agricultural Improvement Youth Foundation, the volunteer board that’s kept this ground going since 1982.
